Sutton names Janine Crawford senior center director

Council on Aging · Meeting of April 21, 2026

Sutton Council on Aging introduces new senior center director amid fuel aid concerns. The board unanimously approved its March 17 minutes, then welcomed Janine Crawford as the new Sutton Senior Center director, who said she looks forward "to being part of the team." Outreach Coordinator Tim reported a bank-run fuel assistance program ended at the close of March after running out of funds, noting "I think we got 5,000, Millbury got 20, I think." The food pantry serves roughly 50 families a month, with another 50 individuals using it occasionally, aided by donations from the Riders of Sutton Food Drive and St. Mark's parish.

Nine new members signed up in a single day the prior Friday, and board members credited the center's TV coverage and word of mouth for the growth.
