Select Board approves phased transfer station fee increase, liquor license for Vaillancourt events
Select Board · Meeting of April 21, 2026
Sutton Select Board votes unanimously to raise transfer station fees in five-year steps. First household stickers climb from $50 to $65 starting July 1, with $5 annual increases thereafter; second stickers rise from $25 to $30 with matching annual bumps. Bag fees for 30-gallon bags increase from $13.75 to $15 and 13-gallon bags from $7.50 to $8.75.
Town Manager Austin Cyganiewicz said the phased approach avoids the impact of Scenario 1, which called for doubling first-sticker fees to $100, while sustaining operations through fiscal 2031 without deficit. The board also unanimously approved an all-alcohol on-premises license for Vaillancourt Hospitality and Events at Blaxton Hall after owner Luke Vaillancourt reported 27,000 visitors at 25 events last year.
